Hybrid Solar Energy Systems

High-Efficiency PVT and Abora Solar Technology Producing Electricity and Heat Simultaneously

While conventional solar panels convert sunlight only into electricity, they experience efficiency losses due to excessive heat generated in the panels. Similarly, standard thermal panels produce only hot water. This results in inefficient use of roof space and prevents the full utilization of the available energy potential.

Pegon Proje introduces a new standard in hybrid energy generation with Abora Solar technology in Hybrid Solar Energy Systems (PVT). By meeting both your electricity and hot water needs on a single panel surface, it maximizes space efficiency and significantly shortens the payback period of your energy investments.

DOES HYBRID SOLAR ENERGY MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS?

  • Do you have to choose between electricity and hot water production because your roof area is limited?
  • Do you notice a decrease in electricity generation efficiency because your standard solar panels overheat during the summer months?
  • Does your hotel, hospital, factory or facility have a high demand for both electricity and hot water / process heat?
  • Are you looking for an innovative solution that will minimize your carbon footprint as quickly as possible while reducing your energy costs? Pegon Proje offers high-efficiency solutions tailored to your facility with Abora Solar hybrid panel technology, which produces electricity and heat simultaneously instead of conventional single-purpose panels.

END-TO-END HYBRID SOLAR ENERGY SOLUTIONS

Maximum Efficiency with Abora Solar

The globally patented Abora Solar technology absorbs the heat generated within the panel, producing hot water while simultaneously cooling the photovoltaic cells. Thanks to this cooling effect, electricity generation efficiency is continuously maintained at a high level.

High Space Efficiency and 89% Total Efficiency

Much higher energy production than the combined output of separate photovoltaic and thermal panels installed over the same surface area. With total panel efficiency of up to 89%, maximum energy can be obtained from limited roof areas.

Photovoltaic and Thermal (PVT) System Integration

Engineering solutions that transfer the generated electricity to your facility's electrical network or storage systems while integrating the generated hot water into domestic hot water, pool heating or industrial processes.

Smart Energy Management and Monitoring

Automation infrastructure that enables you to monitor the instantaneous electricity and heat generated by your hybrid system, as well as the energy savings achieved, 24/7 from a single dashboard.

HIGH-EFFICIENCY ENERGY ARCHITECTURE IN CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING

We approach each project with a tailor-made solution based on your facility's consumption profile and architectural structure.

Site Survey & Needs Analysis: First, we analyze your facility's simultaneous electricity and hot water consumption profiles. We examine your roof area, solar exposure angles and existing mechanical/electrical infrastructure.

Engineering, Custom Design & Project Design: We design a thermal, electrical and hydraulic architecture tailored to your facility using Abora Solar hybrid panels. We develop the project to include heat exchangers, pumping groups and inverter integrations.

Installation & Commissioning: Our expert teams carry out the mechanical and electrical installation and commission the system after completing hydraulic tests and electrical measurements.

Documentation & Monitoring Integration: We provide the system diagrams and performance data, activate your remote monitoring software and hand over the completed project.

WHY PEGON PROJE & ABORA SOLAR?

Dual Energy Generation (Electricity + Heat)

By generating both electricity and hot water from a single panel surface, we eliminate the need to invest in two separate systems.

Continuous Electrical Efficiency Through Panel Cooling

The fluid circulating through Abora Solar hybrid panels reduces the cell temperature. The 15-20% electricity generation loss experienced by standard panels in hot weather is prevented.

Tailor-Made Engineering and Integration

We design hybrid automation solutions that operate in full compatibility with your facility's existing hot water tank, heat pump, natural gas boiler or electrical grid.

Fast Return on Investment (ROI)

Because it reduces both electricity and heating costs simultaneously, we significantly shorten the payback period compared with conventional Solar Energy Systems.

FROM HOTELS TO FACTORIES, FROM HOSPITALS TO BRANCHES

Hotels and Tourism Facilities: An ideal hybrid solution that simultaneously meets guest domestic hot water requirements, indoor/outdoor pool heating needs and the facility's electricity demand.

Factories and Industrial Facilities: Maximum energy savings for industrial facilities with high electricity consumption that use hot water in their production processes.

Healthcare Institutions and Hospitals: High-efficiency green energy transformation for hospitals requiring uninterrupted hot water and sterilization heat 24/7.

Sports Complexes and Swimming Pools: Heating swimming pool water and supplying hot water for shower areas while also meeting the facility's lighting/ventilation electricity demand.

Residential Complexes and Student Dormitories: Integration of common-area electricity and hot water in centrally heated buildings with high hot water consumption.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a hybrid solar panel (PVT)?

PVT (Photovoltaic-Thermal) panels are hybrid solar energy systems that combine electrical and thermal energy generation on the same panel surface. While the photovoltaic section generates electricity, the thermal section enables the heat extracted from the panel to be used for hot water or suitable thermal applications.

What is the difference between PVT and a standard solar panel?

A standard photovoltaic panel primarily generates electricity. A PVT panel, in addition to photovoltaic electricity generation, allows the heat generated in the panel to be extracted and utilized through a thermal system. Therefore, PVT can be considered particularly for facilities with continuous demand for both electricity and thermal energy.

Is a PVT system suitable for hotels?

Hotels with high electricity consumption as well as continuous thermal requirements such as domestic hot water, hot water tank preheating or pool heating can be suitable applications for PVT. The suitability of the system should be determined by analyzing the facility's consumption profile, roof area and existing mechanical infrastructure.

Can a PVT system be connected to an existing hot water tank or hot water system?

Yes. When the technical characteristics of the existing system are suitable, the PVT thermal circuit can be integrated into the existing hot water infrastructure through a heat exchanger, storage tank and required hydraulic equipment. The appropriate connection architecture is determined based on site and system analysis.

How does a PVT panel affect electricity generation?

The operating temperature of photovoltaic cells affects electrical performance. In PVT systems, the thermal circuit can remove some of the heat from the panel. The contribution this makes to electricity generation depends on conditions such as panel technology, operating temperature, thermal load, climate and system design.

What happens during periods of low hot water demand?

The operating mode of the system is determined by the PVT architecture used, storage capacity and connected thermal loads. During the project, the hot water consumption profile and possible alternative thermal applications are evaluated, and the system is designed accordingly.

What is the payback period of a PVT system?

It is not appropriate to specify a single fixed payback period. The return on investment depends on electricity and fuel prices, the facility's electrical and thermal consumption profile, roof area, system capacity, solar irradiation conditions and investment cost. Therefore, a facility-specific energy and feasibility analysis should be carried out before the project.

Do you conduct PVT feasibility studies for hotels in Antalya?

Yes. Through our Antalya branch, we evaluate the electricity and hot water consumption, roof area and existing mechanical-electrical infrastructure of hotels and tourism facilities, and carry out site survey, feasibility and engineering design studies for the applicability of PVT systems.
